Hospitality
In the Bible, the orginal Greek word for "hospitality" is philoxenia (fil-ah-zeen-ee-a), which means "love of strangers." When a guest walks through our doors for the first time, nothing matters more than a warm, friendly welcome. The Hospitality team performs that vital role, often being the reason a first-time guest comes back! The goal of the Hospitality team is to do anything and everything to help our guests see Christ. We want to greet them with unconditional acceptance and respect that makes them feel welcomed.
Greeters
The greeters are responsible for ensuring the every person entering the church is greeted and that visitors are offered assistance as appropriate so that everyone feels important and welcome.
Welcome Table Ministry
The purpose of the Welcome Table ministry is to provide church visitors and members with general information to help the get acquainted with Oakdale Emory. The Welcome Table is located in the lobby and is staffed with helpful volunteers every Sunday during all service times. The volunteers assist church attendees by answering questions, providing brochures and other printed materials about Oakdale Emory and current or upcoming church events, giving out maps and directions to visitors, and more.
Visitor Follow-Up
These volunteers call our visitors to thank them for coming, see if they need any information and answer any questions they may have.
