Nancy Haggis

Hometown: Born in Baltimore, Maryland; grew up in northern Baltimore County in Phoenix, Maryland.

 

My Story: I grew up in a country home, the youngest of three children. I was active in 4-H and school sports. Following high school graduation, I attended Roanoke College in Virginia and received a B.S. in mathematics. I worked for 13 years at the consulting engineering firm for D.C.’s Metro system, before becoming the secretary at Colesville Presbyterian Church, where I served for 17 years. I am currently a member of Laurel Presbyterian Church. I enjoy morning Bible reading and prayer, which I consider essential for starting the day.

 

Ministry Area: As Office Administrator, I am responsible for managing the church office and ensuring that the administrative needs of the program staff are met. In addition, I oversee and maintain the ServantKeeper membership database, supervise processing of the Sunday offering, coordinate reports for Baltimore-Washington Conference, and assist the pastors with their calendars and scheduling. I also supervise additional administrative staff and office volunteers.

 

Family: My husband, Richard, and I live in West Laurel with our two gray cats. We enjoy the outdoors, especially bicycling, walking, and watching the birds at our backyard feeder. Our favorite vacation spot is the coast of Maine.
