Hometown: Charlotte, North Carolina (really Mint Hill, but who knows where that is)

My Story: I grew up in a strong Christian home. There was never a moment in my life that I did not know Jesus. But I was in 7th grade when I first realized who Jesus was in my life. I accepted Jesus as my Savior that summer, but my road has been filled with many twists and turns since then. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer two years later, and died when I was a freshman in college. My life spiraled downward from there, but God is true to His Word and His love for me (and you) is unfailing.  He held on tight to me and I am forever grateful. I now have a wonderful husband and two spirited  girls. God has blessed me with the privilege of both birth and adoption. I have felt the power of God’s grace in my life and have been forever changed by His love. I want to spend the rest of my days sharing that with others.

Ministry Area: As Pastor of Adult Ministry, my main responsibility is to help adults grow closer to Christ through Bible study and provide opportunities for them to connect with others in small groups. My role also is to create and cast a mission/vision for Adult Ministry that will encourage and equip our adults to “take the Gospel into all of life.” I am blessed to work with and support people in our congregation who range in age from 18 to 98. I oversee Disciple classes and other Bible studies, small-groups ministry, church-wide studies, leadership training and special events throughout the year. Contact me at acole@oeumc.org or 301-774-2030, ext. 18.

Family: My husband, Alan; daughters Addison and Ally; our cat, Jingle; and our newest family member, a miniature schnauzer named Berkley, make up our fun and never-dull home.

Passion: God’s Word is my passion! I love hearing Him speak to me and I love to speak about His Word. Every moment that I turn to His Word, there is power, love and grace. I want everyone I come in contact with to know and experience that as well.

Favorite Pastime Activities:  I love to hang out with friends. I also spend time scrapbooking, taking pictures, reading, and walking while listening to praise music. I also love a good football game (especially if my beloved Carolina Panthers are playing) and have recently learned to knit. My latest hobby is sewing.

Little-Known Fact: I used to work for Disney and am still considered somewhat of a “Disney Freak.”
